Non-profit organisation - parent involvement
Mt Gravatt Community Kindergarten is a non-profit organisation that has been serving the local community for 65 years. The kindergarten is run by a voluntary management committee elected annually from the current cohort of parents.
As a non-profit association the kindy relies on voluntary contributions from parents with management, fundraising and general maintenance to ensure kindy fees are kept at an affordable rate while providing a high standard of education and care.
Family involvement in the kindergarten also fosters a strong sense of community and responsibility, ultimately benefiting the educational experience of the children attending.
We value the experiences and expertise of all our families. As a parent this means you will be asked to contribute in various ways, such as:
-
Volunteer to be on the executive management committee: roles include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
-
Volunteer for a supporting role.
-
Volunteer to be a social and / or fundraising champion.
-
Volunteer to assist at a working bee for general maintenance (once/term).
-
Volunteer to assist at a Bunnings sausage sizzle.
-
Volunteer at our community events: welcome picnic, bush dance.
-
Volunteer with any other specialised skills you may have to offer.
