Term fees: $880 per term (inclusive of $25 fundraising levy)
These fees contribute to general running costs, including maintenance of the extensive grounds, resources, staff wages, incursions. Eligible families with a health care or pension card may be entitled to reduced fees by way of a further government subsidy. Please contact us if you think you may be eligible.
Fundraising levy: $25 per term
Traditionally to supplement income from fees and government subsidies the management committee, with the support of the parent community, conducts a number of fundraising activities throughout the year. These events usually require a big commitment from parents.
As families become more and more pushed for time, a fundraising levy has been introduced in lieu of fundraising. There will still be one or two large fundraising events such as a Bunnings barbecue, however families will just pay the fundraising levy, rather than being asked throughout the year to contribute to raffles, cake stalls and other fundraising drives.
While there will be fewer fundraising activities, important social events, to promote community spirit among the parent cohort will continue. This includes fun events like the bush dance and celebrations for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
Maintenance levy: $200
This levy is used to fund essential maintenance works on the kindy grounds, garden and buildings. The kindergarten’s preferred method of doing these works is with the support of families by attending at least one working bee once a term. However, if families are unable to contribute in this way, then the funds raised through the maintenance levy are used to pay for external service providers, such as gardeners, to carry out the works required.
The $200 levy is added to the Term 1 fees invoice. If a member of your family participates in a working bee during the year, the $200 is reimbursed at the end of year, by way of reduced invoice for Term 4 fees, or by direct bank reimbursement if the year’s fees have been paid up-front.
Sheet levy: $50
The beds used at kindy for rest time are not of a standard size. We will therefore provide each family with a custom-made appropriately sized bottom sheet to use throughout the year. There is a $50 levy charged on the Term 1 fees invoice. As rest time changes in Term 4 and beds are not used, each family is asked to return their bottom sheet at the end of Term 3, and they will then receive a refund, but way of reduced invoice for Term 4 fees.
Building Fund donation (optional): $25 per term tax deductible
As a community kindergarten the centre requires this fund for essential ongoing preservation of the kindy buildings and grounds. Income from fees and government grants alone are not sufficient for repairs, improvements and maintenance for general wear and tear.
