How you can be involved
Being ‘on roster’ provides an opportunity for parents to observe and participate through play in our kindergarten day.
We believe that parental involvement creates a sense of community within the kindergarten that directly benefits our children. It would be lovely if you can manage a roster day each term. It is the perfect opportunity to see your child’s development over the year and provides opportunity to chat with the teacher. If you cannot commit to a whole day we are happy for you to come for part of our kindy day.
While on roster you will get to see how your child interacts with other children and their interests while at kindy.
Parents with toddlers are encouraged to consider the benefits of arranging a friend or family member to look after younger siblings while you spend time with your kindy child. Toddlers are welcome to come but please remember that they are your responsibility while at the centre.
As we do not have grandparents’ day, grandparents or special friends are always welcome to come along and share in our kindy program for a day.
Other ways parents may become involved include:
Nominating at the AGM for a position on the management committee.
Supporting the various activities organised by the management committee;eg: – social activities, Bunnings barbecue, alternate rosters.
Stay connected by reading the notice board and newsletters.
Sharing your skills and interests in the education program – cooking, art, sewing, gardening, music, talking about your job, e.g. doctor, nurse.
Helping at working bees.
